Q: How does this fan work in beds with footboards?
A: Based on the position and height of your footboard, you may need to shorten (by cutting with standard kitchen shears) the width of the plastic 'bonnet' that wraps around the fan head so it fits between the fan and your footboard. Complete instructions for this easy modification are included with your fan.
Q: Do you have any factory refurbished or customer returned units for sale at a lower cost?
A: We usually do have stock of returned rental units which have been thoroughly cleaned and tested available for sale. Call our sales department and they can tell you whether any are in stock.
Q: My husband sleeps ‘hot’. Can we both use this fan?
A: Maybe. It depends on whether you can tolerate the cool air on you while you're not having a hot flash. The courtesy bars only work if the fan's air tunnel can be isolated from a sleeping mate. To share a single fan, both of you would have your own 'On' button and could start a cooling cycle, but both would experience the breeze at the same time - hot, or not.
Q: I already have a bedroom fan that works fine for my hot flashes, but your remote activated timer sounds like a great accessory for it. Can I purchase that separately and plug my fan into it?
A: At present, no. But, we are working on a stand-alone version of our timer/controller that would allow customers such as yourself, to plug their own fan into it and then have the advantage of our speed and timer controller. Check our website occasionally and see if we are showing the stand-alone version available for sale.
Q: I love the idea of a fan mounted at the foot of my bed under the sheets, but don’t really need the timer/controller – and frankly, I’m a little short of cash. Can I get just the fan unit without the timer and use just a toggle-switch extension cord to turn it on?
A: Yes, but we're not officially showing the fan unit as a separately available item quite yet. However, if you call our office, we can fix you up with our specially designed fan as a simple switch controlled unit.
Q: I like the product, but I’m not wild about how it will look installed on my bed. Any suggestions?
A: Absolutely. It takes less than one minute to slide it into position on your bed and attach the sheet before retiring. Just remove it in the morning and make your bed as usual. No one will know you have it.
Q: Won’t those ‘Courtesy Bars’ keep us from snuggling together?
A: It might seem so, but in reality the 'Courtesy Bars' are only needed for the few minutes during an actual hot flash. They can actually permit more snuggling because there's no fear of triggering an irritating hot flash. If a flash is triggered by snuggling, just ask your mate to roll away for a couple minutes while you pull the bars into position and cool off with your fan, then, push the bars away and snuggle together again.
Q: Your website shows the MyBreeze fan in white. Any other colors available?
A: No, I'm afraid not at this time. Although the deluxe model fan head is currently black.
Q: Do I need to unplug the fan each morning and reset it each night?
A: No, you certainly do not. The controller will remember your setting and unless you need to reset the processor (in the event it 'freezes') it will hold your program selection even with the power off.
